A tabby Joy for All cat was the best gift I ever gave my late mother after she moved to residential care. My mum, who had dementia, had become very depressed and did not want to leave her room or engage with the other residents. Less than an hour after Casper arrived, she asked staff to take her to the main lounge so she could show people her cat. Other residents interacted with the cat and mum. This was noticed by the nurses and management who ordered two Joy for All pets, on Casper’s first day, for their other residents to enjoy.
Casper was always with mum providing her with a friend to talk to, pat and hug 24/7. He also became a great topic of conversation for our phone and video calls during lockdown when Mum often told me what a good cat he was, about his adventures, and how much she loved him. He made her happy!
