Everyone needs a HUG!

HUG™ is a soft comforter designed to be cuddled by people living with advanced dementia. It has weighted limbs and a soft body that contains a simulated beating heart and a music player that can be programmed to play a person’s favourite music.

Everyone needs a cuddle from time to time – it’s just a simple thing but can make such a big difference to a day.

HUG has been developed from university research by design researchers, engineers and health professionals, working directly with people affected by dementia and their carers.  HUG has been shown to help reduce anxiety, encourage conversation and provide comfort… We’d like to think HUG helps a person feel a little more loved!
